Riposto may appear quite sleepy during the greater part of the year, but in summer there are several festivals that bring a flood of visitors to the town. The Festa del Pesce, a fish festival, is a fun event for all ages that shows off the area's seafood at its best. The Jazz festival and wine festival showcase talents of a different sort. Both are lively occasions on which to see the "real" Sicily and the region's traditions. Catania Airport is located some 30 km distance from Riposto, an easy distance with car hire from Locauto.
